2007-2008 Club Schedule

The RA Chess Club holds regular events on Monday and Thursday evenings at the RA Centre in Ottawa. Club contact and directions can be found here.
 
ABBREVIATIONS OPEN Guests pay $3 fee for each playing session
  TMBR Guests may play the entire tournament for $10, which will be refunded if they join the club before the tournament ends
  MBR All players must have a club membership
TIME CONTROLS:   Unless otherwise noted, the club's standard time controls apply: regular chess, game in 90 minutes plus 30-second per move Fischer increment (G/90+30sec); active chess, game in 25 minutes plus 5-seconds per move Fischer increment (G/25+5sc).

 

Monday Evenings (7:00pm - 10:00pm)

 
Monday evenings are geared towards the casual chess player who wants to enjoy a pick-up game or to learn from other club members.

Thursday Evenings (club opens at 7:00pm, games start at 7:30 pm)

Thursday evenings are geared towards the more serious club player wishing to compete in rated tournaments. To participate in rated tournaments you must be a current Chess Federation of Canada (CFC)Member.
